In official Iranian sources, General Qassem Soleimani was the former commander of the IRGC Quds Force, whom the Iranian narrative regards as a key figure of the "Axis of Resistance" and the fight against ISIS, calling him "the commander of hearts." He was killed in a U.S. drone strike in Baghdad in January 2020.
