Liberation of Khorramshahr (Beit-ol-Moqaddas)

In Iran’s official account, the liberation of Khorramshahr in May 1982 during Operation Beit-ol-Moqaddas is the turning point of the Sacred Defense; after about eighteen months of occupation the city was retaken, and the day is commemorated in Iran as a day of resistance and victory.
